Trail Overview
Cook Option is a solid intermediate trail with a few extra challenging sections. The east end of it starts wide and rocky and slightly narrows as it works through the forest. There is a constant string of small rocks, but most are fairly embedded and easy to either roll through or over. As you start to leave the dense woods, there is one steeper, short climb through a rut that has a couple of small, ledgy rocks in it. Once topped out on that climb, the trail cruises for a bit before getting to the hardest part of the trail, a large rock garden with bigger rocks in it. Thankfully, some line choice is present, and it can be ridden fairly easily. If off line, there are some holes from folks spinning tires and digging it out. After getting through that, the trail narrows to the point of dragging bars on both sides through baby trees and thick brush before popping out back on Ring Creek FSR.
Difficulty
A large rock garden, small rocks, and tight in the brush all make for an interesting and fun intermediate trail.
