Soft-roading meets history. This "Sunday" drive feeling trail will take about 3 hours and is primarily a packed dirt road with the random rut or pothole;there is also one area built up with rocks. The speed on the trail is 25 km/h, with signs reminding you of trail courtesy. Entering through Shields Creek FSR saves you from waiting for someone to unlock the gate. Breath-taking views while travelling on trestles, various lengths of tunnels, and following the trail through rock cut-outs are all included! Take advantage of learning the history of this railway while navigating the trail with each of the markers;so many interesting points of interest. Don't forget to bring a picnic and take advantage of the numerous picnic tables along the trail! This trail truly has something for everyone to enjoy!

This is a non-technical dirt road with only occasional potholes or shallow ruts. One short section has a minor rock build-up but poses no real challenge.
