Clayton Falls & Recreation Site

This rough but well-maintained logging FSR is short and sweet, with the forest on one side and the ocean on the other. During your drive, you may encounter deer, bear, and other wildlife. While on the ocean, you may see seals, orcas, and birds throughout. In the middle of the journey, you will reach a shoreline picnic site, while on the opposite side, there is a path to a viewing platform of the falls cascading through a canyon of cliffs. No overnight camping at either location. Depending on the season or the current weather, the falls can be a full apron or narrow streamlets running through the ancient rock setting. Pink and Chum salmon spawn at the bottom of the falls between late July and September; The fish will jump up the falls. Salmon also use the spawning grounds created by B.C.
