Trail Overview

This is one of the main access trails in the Waiparous Creek area that branches off from Waiparous Valley Road. This trail will take you along the beautiful creek while offering stunning views of the foothills, you will also find a multitude of camp sites and some shorter trails that snake back and forth across the main road. At the end of the trail is the start of the approach to Margaret Lake.

Difficulty

As the trail loops around the top of Camp Chamisall, there is an optional mud pit that can be difficult depending on how wet the ground it. Other than that, the largest obstacle you will encounter is some deeper ruts on the road. SUVs should have no problem navigating the trail.

I found this road very stock friendly for my 2003 Passat Wagon and my buddy's 2020 RAV4. No bumps or scrapes on the fun small sections and conditions are very mild. For reference my car has a pretty ratty low-hanging exhaust and still barely made contact, but I did have to angle my vehicle due to the long wheel base. My car has ~5" clearance while the Rav4 has its stock height (pretty sure my car's OE suspension is blown, still handled the trails w/o damage)
