Seaview Trail to Inspiration Point

The Seaview Trail in Tilden Regional Park lives up to its name with sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay to the west and Mount Diablo and the San Pablo Reservoir to the east. This popular ridge trail can be enjoyed by hikers, runners, cyclists, equine, and canines alike. The first half mile of the trail is paved and shaded by towering Oak Trees. Once the fire road ends and the dirt begins, the trail is mostly exposed until reaching the high point. Here, there is a clearing with a picnic table and benches. On a clear day the San Francisco skyline and Golden Gate Bridge glisten in the distance. An ideal bird-watching location, red-tailed hawks are often seen soaring overhead. The trail descends into a canyon where, in the springtime, wildflowers pop along the trailas edge. Crossing Wildcat Canyon Road, the trail becomes shaded and singletrack. Once the Seaview Trail ends, the Curran Trail completes the final 0.2 miles to Inspiration Point. Here visitors will find bathrooms, a picnic area, and views of Mount Diablo.
