Description
Parking for this loop can be found just north of the start and end location. Hop right across the park entrance road to the trails, and enjoy a smooth, sometimes sandy loop around the perimeter of the Arthur Pack trail system. Begin on the Maeveen Behan Trail before continuing west when linking to the XC Trail. Then head north on the Crooked Tree Trail all the way to the park perimeter. Don't miss the turn on the Crooked Tree Trail as the path does continue to the north on many unmarked/unnamed trails that loop around through the desert. Here, you'll hop just outside the park on the west side of the trails along a dirt path before re-entering on the Oasis Trail. At the intersection with the Crooked Tree Trail, take a sharp right heading southwest to stay on the Oasis Trail and follow it down to the Hardy Wash Trail where you'll take a left heading east. This path eventually links back up to the Maeveen Behan Trail and heads past the southern ball fields. There is a very brief stretch of asphalt, but continue east along the path that parallels Hardy Road, and you'll turn heading north back towards the beginning, this time paralleling Thornydale Road immediately to your east. After a couple outings this loop will become very easy to follow, even with the multiple trail intersections.
