Description
This is one of several options in the Scarlett-Mitchel Nature Area and the surrounding loops and spurs can easily be included to extend the mileage as hikers see fit.Park at the Scarlett Middle School lot and enter the woods as designated by their sign. Continue straight and take the second right to begin this loop. Once the hike returns to the Loop Trail simply follow the signage where it appears at each intersection signpost. For the first third of a mile, the woods are open and clear, with a generous line of site. The middle portion weaves into denser growth and the end of the hike passes a pond and wetland before returning to the start.
