The Tuxedo - Mt. Ivy trail traverses the southern section of Harriman State Park, NY. There is no parking at the trailhead when hiking from west to east. I started near the Tuxedo train station and walk the road under route 87 to the trail and parked my car on the east end of the park. This will require a shuttle or friend to pick you up and drop you at the trailhead. From the western trailhead, two trails start, the Kakiat Trail (white markers) and the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail (red markers). Follow the Ramapo-Dunderberg trail for .8 miles until the junction and trail start of the Tuxedo - Mt. Ivy trail (red dash markers). The start is easy to miss. It is on the right, up a hill and the first markers are off the trail. After less than .5 miles you reach Claudias Den, the best viewpoints of the day. Another 1.2 miles the trail crosses The White Bar Trail (white dash markers). A side trip from here is turning left on the White Bar trail for a tenth of a mile to reach the Dutch Doctor Shelter. Another mile along the Tuxedo-Mt. Ivy trail leads to Lake Sebago. From the lake, cross over Seven Lakes Drive and walk left to the guard rail and over. The next 6.5 miles has no viewpoints but is seldom visited and a nice peaceful hike. Near the end you descend Limekiln Mountain and has one good viewpoint. Your car should have been parked at the end of the trail on Diltzes Lane.
