Pine Meadow Trail

You can access this trail via mass transit from NYC by taking the metro Port Jarvis line to the Sloatsburg metro stop and hiking along Seven Lakes Road to the Reeve's Meadow Visitor Center. The trail from the visitor center climbs along Stony Brook which makes for a pleasant hike. Continue along the red blazes to the lake for a nice lunch spot. Unless you have access to transportation on the other end of the trail you may want to loop back - you can take this same trail back of follow the other trails around the lake to enjoy it from all sides.
