Start at Reeves Meadow info center. Be advised on weekends it can get very crowded, and the parking lot fills up fast. You can park on the side of the road, but at times you'll need to hike 0.25 mile or more to get to the trailhead.Take Pine Meadow Trail, which can also be very crowded on weekends with some very noisy hikers. Once you get on Seven Hills Trail, it gets significantly less crowded and noisy. In less than a few tenths of a mile, you'll start up Diamond Mountain, a nice steep trail at first then a really good scramble to the top.Make your way across the ridge for the views and a few easier descents. You can easily make it to Pine Meadow Lake descending Diamond Mountain via Pine Meadow Trail--it's totally worth the trip to cool your feet off in the lake!
