Description
Access this trail from the marked trailhead off the south side of Hwy 199 on the west side of the 199 Bridge or near the Hatton Loop Trail further west along Hwy 199. Begin the trail (from the west end) with a good climb up the ridge. Continue east along the contours of the ridge through a serene redwood forest before dropping toward the river past a junction with the Lohse Grove trail and the Hiouchi Trail. Though this trail is just south of Hwy 199, the forest all but extinguishes any sounds from the road. Look for small breaks in the coniferous canopy where wildflowers take full advantage.

The trail is terrific for exercise. But there’s a lot of traffic noise since it parallels close to HWY 199.
