Description
Take Pretty River Access Trail from Pretty River Road and follow it about 250m up an incline to the main Bruce Trail: Blue Mountains Section. Parts of this segment have been damaged in a recent windstorm and it looks quite alien! Turn right and pass through a cedar thicket. The trail winds through the tightly clustered trunks. At about 700m, you'll come to the junction of the Pretty River Side Trail; follow it left. You'll come to Sundown Lake on your right, then pass through more forest as you head uphill and eventually reach the peak at around 2km, where you reconnect with the Bruce Trail: Blue Mountains Section. It's downhill from here, as you come across some nice views and a pretty river with several small waterfalls and a few short boardwalks. Towards the end of the hike, there's an area where you can wade into the river. Great for dogs or kids!
