The Allegheny Front Trail starts at the PA 504 trailhead, circumnavigating the State Park in a clockwise direction, starting at the "3 o'clock" position, with yellow blazes painting all 41 miles of the trail. There are signs at any tricky intersections, so navigation is not an issue the majority of the time.
Most fast running springs are great for drinking, provided that they are properly filtered. DO NOT drink the Moshannon Creek water. Its orange color is a result of coal mining, and it is not suitable for drinking.
Campsites are plentiful, with one every five miles or so, if not even closer together.
