Description
This trail runs between the Golf Course Loop and the Cascade Trail down the backbone of Taylor Mountain parallel to Aubrey Carr Scenic Drive. At the top, on the end nearest the Golf Course Loop, it meanders along the ridge in the midst of a relatively new forest due to significant damage from the April 2011 tornadoes that devastated significant portions of Lake Guntersville State Park. A short section of the trail is doubletrack. After passing through a large clearing, it begins a singletrack descent, with a few switchbacks here and there. There is also a bail point to Aubrey Carr Scenic Drive. Generally speaking, the trail is not technical; the higher difficulty rating is largely due to the almost constant steep grade down the mountain.
