Point to Point
Many hikers will find that the presence of many downhill mountain bikers detracts from the experience of this trail. However, the trail is road-width for much of its length and it has some great views. Plus, it is the only way to hike directly up to Mt Ashland by trail. From the Mt Ashland parking lot, the trail starts as a road that goes directly below the ski lodge and then to a water treatment plant. After this, the trail becomes more appealing and offers various views of the Rogue Valley below. The trail can be rutted, dusty, and rocky from mountain bike traffic.
A spring half-way down offers some refreshingly cool water.
