This is a newly constructed trail to Baldy's summit. Please follow this track rather than the previous, as there are No Trespassing signs posted on the old trail -- it's now private property.

The park recently finished the trail to the top of Mount Baldy. The grade is much easier to hike up or down, with several switchbacks. The upper section is especially sweet, with the trail away from the alders and a great view and of the surrounding alpine vegetation.
The switchbacks cross over the established trail straight up the mountain trail, and in some cases, the 'long way up' follows the straight-up trail. On the way down, look for the rock pile on the right side of the trail that marks the beginning of the 'long way down' trail.
