Description
The part of the New England Trail that this route occupies starts fairly flat and easy for about the first fifth of a mile. The trail then turns and gets steeper. In addition to being steeper, the trail also gets rocker. Eventually, the trail reaches a few benches and a breathtaking view to the right. The route then leaves the New England Trail and heads between the benches, passes a kiosk, and leads to the Goat Peak lookout tower. While somewhat short, this tower given incredible 360-degree views of the rest of Mount Tom State Reservation and all of Holyoke Range State Park across the Connecticut River.
