There and Back
From the Visitor Center, head southwest down the road to the second, lesser-known parking lot. Before you hit the bridge, you'll see the trail entrance against the treeline. Meander down the heavily wooded trail, stopping at various benches and overlooks to get a glimpse of the Baptism River. About 1 mile in, take a left at the Two Falls Connector. This intersection includes wayfinding signage. This short detour will dip you down some steps to the river bed. From here, you'll be able to get a great view upriver at the Two Step Falls. When your time at the first falls is done, backtrack up to the High Falls Trail. Continue left toward High Falls. Once at High Falls, feel free to scramble around the falls, but be careful since the rocks are slick and a fall could be treacherous. Make sure to continue up the trail a bit more to explore the swing bridge. If you wish, you can cross the river and get a view from High Falls on the other side of the river. When you are all waterfalled out, head back to the Visitor Center via the way you came.
