Description
From the trailhead you take the road out of the big parking lot. That road continues to the left but you take the grassy trail to the right. You come up to some benches and have to take a pretty unmarked trail to get to the main trail. There are other trails in the area, but to get to this one the easiest. Take the unmarked trail behind the bench on the left. This is part of the East Pate Trail. Once you get to another intersection where the graded trail begins, you can go right or left. Left will take you out on the West Pate Trail, and right will have you continuing on the East Pate Trail. For this one I went left. At the intersections, there are maps posted on the trail with ample information about which way to go. Navigation is pretty easy, allowing you to appreciate your surroundings instead.
