Of the handful of hiker-only trails in Hoosier National Forest, this ranks near the top. The difficulty is moderate, and the chance for solitude is superb. Starting at the parking lot leading to the Terrill Ridge Trail, hike to the junction with the Sycamore Trail. The trail makes its way down into a drainage on a mixed tread before climbing out of the drainage to a stretch of flat land and the Terrill Ridge Trail to follow back to the parking lot. This trail is popular with overnight campers at marked and unmarked campsites. The beginning and ending legs of the trail receive the heaviest traffic because of the campsites and the graveyard, but your company quickly thins toward the middle of the trail.
