Description
Trail leads between the Blackwater State Park Campground and boardwalk to Pavilions for Picknicking and river swimming beach access. You could start at either end but public parking is only at the pavilions end. This loop trail has a steep up and down path with sand and roots. The loop has educational placards describing the formation of the oxbow lake and others that describe the plants and animals. Has a short side trail down to Blackwater River. The Pavilion boardwalks lead to reserved pavilions with power, water and bathrooms. These boardwalks continue on to a beach access area on the Blackwater River that is great for swimming.
