Loop
Begin at the Gomez Peak Trailhead. All intersections are posted with a number and reference map. Ascend the northern leg of the Pinon Loop Trail passing markers 2 and 3 on your way to an obvious junction of trails at marker 4. Turn north onto the Mountain Loop Trail and take a sharp left (southwest) at marker 9 to hike in a clockwise manner. Reach the pass at marker 10 and head down the northern side to begin the descent back to the junction of trails. Pass marker 11 and remain on the Mountain Loop Trail until back at marker 4. Continue straight on through, directly south, to reach marker 5 and the Angel Loop Trail. Take a right turn (southwest) and hike the trail in a counterclockwise direction. Pass marker 6, continuing on the Angel Loop Trail to return to marker 5. Take a sharp right (northeast) to return to the second leg of the Pinon Loop Trail for the descent back to the trailhead. Pass marker 1 following a sharp turn to the north returning to the trailhead.
