Loop
This 2.4 mile loop combines the T Bone Trail, Pioneer Rim Trail and Pioneer Hills Trail to create an enjoyable and easy trek through the desert terrain just above Pioneer Park. To begin the loop you'll first need to head to Pioneer Park and try to find a parking spot along the paved, one-way park loop. There are also some larger overflow lots outside the loop.Once parked, begin hiking on the T Bone Trail. This easy, wide gravel pathway will soon come to a junction with the Pioneer Rim Trail. Take a left. You'll traverse across sections of slickrock as you explore the northern top of the 52 acre Pioneer Park. This is the most enjoyable section of the trail. There are some very cool rock formations you can explore here, and you'll probably be able to spot the crack that is the St. George Narrows from above. You'll also have stunning views toward downtown St. George along this stretch of trail.Continue along the Pioneer Rim Trail as it leaves Pioneer Park behind and continues onward toward some less exciting terrain. You'll eventually come to some power lines and a junction. Continue straight (right) on what is now the Pioneer Hills Trail.Continue following the Pioneer Hills Trail and the power lines until you reach the T Bone Trail. You'll follow this trail downhill all the way back to where you started. While you are in the area be sure to check out the St. George Narrows, and the next-door Red Hills Desert Garden.
