There and Back
This trail explores a small part of the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve just outside St. George. The Reserve is known as the home of the Desert Tortoise, Gila Monster, Chuckwalla and many other rare wildlife. This is also a gorgeous area that is great for a morning or evening hike to get out and enjoy some nature. This trail only shows a tiny fraction of the entire reserve but offers some gorgeous desert scenery. There are not any set routes here -- you can explore as much or as little as you want. The area is full of birds, reptiles, and mammals. The trailhead is located at the end of a neighborhood within 5 minutes of downtown St. George. There are a lot of rules here so be sure to read the sign near the trailhead.
