The trail starts in Heckscher State Park and connects with Connetquot S.P., Blydenburgh Park, Caleb Smith S.P., Nissequogue River S.P, and many smaller parks The path is marked with white blazes, but in several locations it can be tricky to follow, especially on the northern end where the trail follows suburban streets at several points.
