Point to Point
This is a very easy and well travelled path through the Mink River Estuary. From the lot on County Road NP is less than a mile from the small river down a singletrack dirt path that would get the easiest rating possible if not for a few gnarled roots and fallen trees that may make the hike harder for people with limited mobility. The trail is excellent for even the most amateur of hikers of all ages.
After applying liberal amounts of bug spray, just head south on the trail for just short of one mile. That's it, no big turns, spots where the trail disappears, or other directions to go. Just plenty of old growth trees in an area that was otherwise forested out a century ago. Eventually, the trail opens to a well-maintained grass beach where you can observe waterfowl and aquatic mammals (though they are far less common than they used to be). Similarly, this is an excellent fishing spot when the water levels are high, although that also is becoming less common.
