This is a very beautiful hike in on the university campus. The arboretum is a nature preserve that surrounds the campus. In the summer, you can enjoy the lush green forest surroundings and wildlife. In the fall, the colors will astonish. You can see various birds (cardinals, robins, morning doves, wild turkey, finches, etc.), critters (chipmunks, squirrels, etc.), and deer. There are a number of ponds to go past and even an adorable little chapel. On the eastern portion of the hike is one of the main highlights, the Niagara, which is a natural rock formation that runs along the US and Canada. The main drawback is that the city is never far away on this hike. You can constantly hear the noise of nearby cars and highways. However, it is still nice to get into what feels like a forest in the middle of an urban atmosphere. As you come to the north/nothwest portion, you'll abut the golf course that is also on campus, and the trail takes a distinctly urban feel. The best parts are on the southern and eastern sections that wind through the woods.
