Description
<p>This route begins at the Loveland Pass parking area (11,990 feet) and ends at Grays Peak (14,278 feet), returning along the same path.<p> <p>From the parking area, climb southeast along the ridgeline. At 0.8 miles, pass the Mount Sniktau trail junction and keep right to follow the ridge crest. Traverse over Cupid (13,117 feet) at 1.8 miles, then descend slightly before climbing 600 vertical feet to the summit of Grizzly Peak D (13,427 feet) at 2.9 miles.<p> <p>Descend the rugged, loose south ridge of Grizzly Peak to the saddle, losing 1,180 vertical feet. Route-finding and scrambling are required on this steep, loose section. From the saddle, climb 1,025 vertical feet up the west ridge to Torreys Peak (14,275 feet) at 4.5 miles.<p> <p>From Torreys, descend southeast along the saddle, then climb 400 vertical feet to Grays Peak at 5.25 miles. Turn around and retrace your steps. The return requires re-ascending both Grizzly Peak D and Cupid, adding substantial vertical feet to the return trip.<p>
