Description
The Higley Flow State Park route begins at the Warm Brook Trailhead, located near the main parking area by the park’s beach and picnic area. From the trailhead, follow the Warm Brook Trail through shaded mixed hardwood forest, then connect with the Overlook Trail for elevated views of Higley Flow. At the next junction, stay right connecting the Toadstool Trail to the Cedar Brook Trail and continue through quiet forested terrain, crossing a few small footbridges and wet areas—use caution on slippery boardwalk sections. As the trail bends toward the shoreline, merge onto the Beaver Pond Trail to complete the loop. The route is open year-round and groomed in winter for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Expect mosquitoes and black flies in late spring and early summer, and bring bug protection. Wildlife sightings are common, especially white-tailed deer and loons. Fall offers colorful foliage and quieter trails.
