Description
The southern end of the trail begins up at the end of Terrace Ave. at a gated road. The trail starts around the left side of the gate - follow a doubletrack for a short distance. Half way up the first hill the trail turns to singletrack and continues climbing until reaching a hilltop shrouded in pines and overlooking I-77. The trail then rolls across a saddle on the ridge intersecting a dirt service road. After a short distance, before reaching a radio tower, the singletrack splits off on your right. After a quick descent, the trail crosses a small gravel road. Bear to the right and look for the trail approx 100 ft on your left. The last portion of the singletrack empties onto a grassy doubletrack. Turn left onto the doubletrack. You'll come to two more intersections; go left at both of them. The trail opens into a mowed field, and after crossing it, the trail ends at the intersection of Colegate Dr and Glendale Rd. (There may be parking here on the shoulder of Glendale Rd.) To reach the North Hills Trail (Western Section), follow Glendale Rd down for about .2 miles until reaching the trail continuation on your right. In addition, there is an entrance to the trail about halfway through that is accessible in the back of the left parking lot of the Washington State Community College.
