Description
Cascade Trail begins off of the west side of Loop Trail and is a short singletrack descent to Trace Fork, which winds along the creek, or County Road Trail, which climbs back out out of Trace Fork to the trails higher on the ridge. Cascade is not technical, but it is narrow. After bearing away from Loop Trail, it follows a drainage feature for a short distance along the side of the hill. The left side of the trail drops away. The trail then bends to the right and runs below and along some rock outcroppings. It then ends in a large flat bottom land covered in pines along Trace Fork. From here, continue bearing right until you intersect County Road Trail, which is a good climb out up the mountain out of the creek bottom back to Loop Trail; or if continuing further up the hill to Spider City and others.
