Description
The trail starts off very established for about the first mile then puts you into a more vegetated area for the rest of the hike. Almost the entire trail excluding the last 0.75 miles follows a river and includes three sections where crossing water is necessary. I was able to cross using rocks to stand on. (Depending on the time of the year, water levels could be different.) The trail is constantly steep with some sections reaching a 40% grade. There is a meadow about 0.5 miles from the top where the best views of the valley can be seen. The end of the trail has a small clearing in trees and connects with Desolation Trail #19.
