Loop
The Parnell Tower Hiking Trail is a 3.5 mile loop trail which begins at the Parnell Trail Parking Area and meanders through wooded hills. I would recommend a clockwise hiking direction, so the tower will be at the end. Pay the fee to park in the large paved parking/picnic area, and hike up the wooden steps towards the tower.
At the fork in the trail, go left to the west. The trail will join with the Ice Age trail for a short period, and then fork and separate once more. Keep right to continue the loop. At the fork you'll find a small cabin with a paved floor. There aren't many other interesting landmarks for the rest of the journey until you are about 0.25 miles from the end, where the tower is. Climb to the top of the tower, where you'll be able to look out over the treetops into the distance.
