This route begins at the Noon Hill Reservation trailhead off Noon Hill Road in Medfield and travels through a mix of wooded conservation lands managed by The Trustees of Reservations. From the trailhead, head southeast following signs for the Bay Circuit Trail as it enters the woods and crosses small footbridges through shaded forest. Stay on the Bay Circuit Trail as it gradually climbs toward the summit of Noon Hill, a low but prominent peak offering broad views south across the towns of Walpole and Norfolk. From the summit, continue along the marked trail as it descends toward Noon Hill Road, passing through stands of pine, birch, and hemlock, with seasonal wildflowers in spring.
Just before reaching Noon Hill Road, turn right off the Bay Circuit Trail onto the Yellow Loop, then make a left onto the Blue Loop. Stay left at subsequent junctions to follow the Blue Loop around, noting that this section crosses private property on a designated trail easement—hikers should stay on the marked path to respect landowner agreements. At the third junction, turn left to rejoin the Bay Circuit Trail near Holt Pond and return to the trailhead. Expect muddy or root-covered sections in wet weather and remain on designated trails if biking. This moderate route blends rolling New England forest with a scenic viewpoint, making it a rewarding outing close to town.
