Description
The Lakeshore Loop Trail is a singletrack dirt trail that follows the shore of the Tennessee River/Chickamauga Lake for about a quarter of a mile before turning back into the woods and returning to the parking lot. To access the trail, follow the road to the campground and on the right, there will be a small parking area where you can park to hike the trail. The trail leads downhill toward the lakeshore on a dirt trail that narrows as the trail descends. The trail winds through the woods along the lake for a little over 0.15 miles before turning right and following the lake for a little bit. At roughly 0.25 miles, the Group Camp Trail breaks off to the left while the Lakeshore Loop Trail cuts to the right. The trail climbs uphill through the woods and makes its way back to the parking lot. This is a short trail, but provides some nice views of the lake.
