Point to Point
This point to point hike can be done in either direction and would require a shuttle car. Traveling north on the Appalachian trail from Wind Gap to Fox Gap has more elevation gain than going the opposite direction. From the Appalachian Trail (AT, white markers) parking lot at Wind Gap, enter the forest which starts with an immediate incline and prograssively gets steeper until the trail reaches the ridge at .8 miles. From this point, the trail is extremely rocky with many sections having no trail. Follow the white markers on the trees to guide your way until a trail can be picked up again. The difficult terrain is unrelentless along the ridge for about 6 miles. The only view point along this section of the AT is at Wolf Rocks. Traversing Wolf Rocks requires some boulder hopping and is more enjoyable than the previous section. After Wolf Rocks, the trail begins to descend with a much easier terrain. This section ends at Fox Gap, which has parking along the road.
