Bear Paw Battlefield Loop

This short, easy route begins at the Bear Paw Battlefield Visitor Area near Chinook, MT, a key site within the Nez Perce National Historical Park. The trail forms a walking route across rolling prairie terrain, with wide views and minimal elevation change. Interpretive signs along the way highlight major events from the 1877 Nez Perce War, including the final encampment and surrender of Chief Joseph.
