The Dogwood Loop Trail is a forested loop path descending and climbing the side of a hill in the quiet Withrow Springs State Park area.Named for the flowering dogwood trees found along the hike, the trail follows a gravel single track route that weaves and wends through the forest. The park's rural location ensures that the trail sees a steady but relatively small number of users. The trail can be accessed from the bottom or top, however the signed trailhead at the top near the parking area and pavilion make this the preferred access point. Hikers can visit the other park amenities such as visitor center with bathrooms and water, swimming pool and camping area which are available seasonally. In all, the Dogwood Loop Trail is a peaceful hike with easy to moderate elevation gains.Bathrooms and tables are located at the upper trailhead. There are no immediate amenities near the lower trailhead however bathrooms and water are a short distance down the road near the center of the park.
