Loop
Park at the visitor center and use the Loop Trail to access the mountain. If you have time, go around counterclockwise to view the plane crash memorial on the NW side of the mountain. The Loop Trail is easy and is a mostly flat dirt trail. However, the trail leading to the top of the mountain requires some light climbing (2-3 flights of stairs) and rock scrambling. The short Ridge Top Trail branches to the south and to the north with the summit of Round Top Mountain to the north. From the summit, you can enjoy great panoramic views. The trail to north view point continues on as a loop back to 'stairs'. There is limited parking at the trailhead.
The northeast side of the mountain is the site of a B-25 bomber plane crash from the 1940's. Remnant plane parts can still be found, and a historical plaque is present to honor those who died in the crash.
