Point to Point
The hike utilizes some paved trail but it is mostly gravel. The trails are easy with a few steep/rocky intermediate areas but our kids (2.5 and 6.5) didn't have much trouble. Tanyard Creek has beautiful crystal clear water, and it is easy to access so it is great for kids that love to play in the water. Lots of fish, crawdads, snails, and waterbugs are sure to keep kids entertained. Keep an eye out for fossils on the boulders throughout the trail. We saw a blue heron and some blue-tailed skinks.
The cool stone bluffs were used for shelter by both farmers and before that, Native Americans. We saw two old foundations for abandoned homes. Lots of plaques with info on local plants and notable sites.
