Description
The Homesteaders Hollow Trail begins and ends at the Coot's Shanty Recreation Area on Belmore State Forests' Ates Creek Tract. This trail follows moderately uneven terrain along winding streams, managed timber stands and old homesites of Clay County pioneers. Although foundations and other homesite remnants are long gone, these areas still show signs of previous habitation with towering cedar and live oak trees and even some still growing fruit trees. There is one camp zone located on the Homesteaders Hollow Trail. It is hike-in only and tent only.
