This hike combines the Ash Creek Loop with a portion of the La Verkin Creek Trail and Confluence Trail to form a 2.5 mile hike. The hike takes you through some pasture land where you'll likely spot a few horses, then alongside La Verkin Creek and eventually the Virgin River.Begin from the La Verkin Creek Trailhead within the 344 acre Confluence Park. There is plenty of parking and some informative signs here. You'll start by walking the Confluence Trail (which is just the gravel road) to the junction with the La Verkin Creek Trail. You'll then need to cross the small creek, something you should be able to do with dry feet if your rock hopping abilities are up to par. You'll then start the Ash Creek Loop. This loop basically circles a large pasture area where you will likely see some cows or horses. The trail is a bit faint in areas, but just keep following the fenceline around the grazing area. You'll then rejoin the La Verkin Creek Trail where you left it. The trail follows alongside the small creek until it joins the Virgin River. The trail then intersects the gravel road that is the Confluence Trail. Turn left here to return to the trailhead and finish the hike.
