Description
A rocky, 26-mile loop, this route makes for a long day trip, or a great overnight experience. Expect several long, sustained climbs and rocky descents. Though the trail is rocky, you can expect to enjoy forested terrain. This makes it a shady and pleasant choice in the summer. Due to the remoteness of the area, and the length of the trail, this is a great option for hikers who are seeking a bit of solitude. The trail is criss-crossed by several forest roads that can be used for a quick exit if you ever find yourself in trouble. The trail drains well after rainfall, but has several creek crossings that you may want to watch out for.
