There and Back
The trail starts in the forest ascending up a consistent elevation gain crossing a few streams. Stay right at the first mile and continue up into the beautiful trees for only another half mile. After making your way past the avalanche shoot you will hit the switchbacks that meander to the right where it flats out just a bit offering sweeping views of the valley before you while looking out at long ridges full of peaks. As the trail turns back to the west admire several cairns and if you so desire you can setup a camp for your relaxing night. As you make your way from camp up to the summit you will notice the growing number and size of the granite boulders. At the top resides a large fire lookout that often times a ranger will have open to the public. The peak offers sweeping views in all directions where you can see a number of lakes along with Mt. Rainier, Stuart, Baker and a significant number of peaks around the Snoqualmie area.
