Description
Denny Creek Trail begins in a beautiful old-growth forest that leads into the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Waterfalls, pools, and even a natural waterslide provide a fantastic retreat in the summer, when the trail is the most accessible. The hike is a great choice for families, and on a hot weekend youall likely encounter families stopped for the day at the second Denny Creek crossing. Here youall find plenty of large flat rocks that are ideal for picnicking, and at just 2 miles from the trailhead, the distance is short enough for hikers of all ages. If you decide to continue on the trail, Keekwulee Falls is an additional 0.7 miles, and Snowshoe Falls is an additional 1.3 miles. If you are interested in a longer hike, consider continuing on to Melakwa Lake. Note that the second creek crossing does present some difficulties when Denny Creek is experiencing high flows. No bridge means that crossings depend on available boulders, so access beyond the second crossing may be dangerous if not impossible, in the spring.
