Description
Carter Park Trail is located at the south end of High Street in the southeastern corner of Breckenridge. There is limited parking at Carter Park. The trail begins at the eastern end of the parking lot north of the tennis courts. The trail climbs briefly to a flume, then runs south to an intersection with Sunbeam Trail at which point the trail climbs left through a series of nine switchbacks to Hermit Placer flume trail. Midway up the climb there is a crossing trail that connects a pair of deadend streets on either side of the former town ski training hill above Carter Park. From the Hermit Placer flume turn left to access Moonstone Trail and right to access Jack's Cruel Joke.
