The Rum River Central Paved Loop is 2.6-mile-long asphalt trail located in Rum River Central Regional Park. The Park is part of the Anoka County Park system is located in the city of Ramsey, Minnesota off Roanoke Street NW. There are four parking lots that can be used to access this trail. There is a gravel lot located a short distance from the gate house and two other paved lots to the south. There is another paved parking lot near the boat launch.The Rum River Central Paved Loop mostly runs through yellow birch lowland forests and upland oak forest as well as some open prairie habitat. There are some very scenic portions of the trail that run by the Rum River. The Rum River flows into the Mississippi about nine miles south of the park. The loop a paved path which allows for multiple uses including hiking, running, inline skating, biking, and strollers. Dogs are allowed on the trail, but must be on a leash. The trail is also quite level making it suitable for most abilities.Since Rum River Central Paved Loop is located in an Anoka County Park, a fee must be paid to enter the park. A day use or annual permit can be purchased at the gate house.
