Loop
This loop starts by climbing the eastern wall flanking Cunningham Gulch. This can be accessed by a connector trail by the Cunningham Gulch pit toilet or by using the Cunningham Gulch Trail #502 from the Highland Mary Lakes Trail #606 TH. This climb is steep, climbing almost 3000 ft before cresting the ridgeline. The trail markings are infrequent, with the occasional cairn, but becomes better when it runs into the CDT/CT. This also marks the end of the steep climbing and descending. Simply follow the CDT to the Highland Mary Lakes Trail #606 to get back to the TH. You'll be rewarded by some easy trail and big views along this stretch.
