Point to Point
This is an important access trail because it provides a safe crossing of Beltway 8 and I-69 for pedestrians and cyclists. Trail signs with a map on the way in 2023.
Though the trail officially starts at Braeswood, due to the construction history, this version starts at Gessner since that is where Brays and Keegans bayous meet. The trail passes under South Gessner and quickly comes to an at-grade crossing of S. Braeswood Blvd. Sight lines are a bit short for the motor vehicle speeds so be careful crossing; there is an island between the two lanes of the boulevard.
After crossing Braeswood, the trail moves from the south bank to the north bank of Keegans Bayou over a bridge. The trail continues mostly west and passes under Beltway 8 and then under I-69. As of September 2020, there are about 500 yards that have not been paved between the I-69 underpass and Wilcrest Drive. The path in that section is natural surface.
The crossing of Wilcrest Drive is at-grade. The trail is concrete from there to Kirkwood, where it ends.
