Point to Point
This short spur trail leads from the Black Dome Mountain Trail at the shoulder between Black Dome and Blackhead Mountains. The trail heads east up the relatively steep ascent, but there is less scrambling than the ascent to Black Dome. There are some great views as you climb.
Some Issues
It was snowing lightly. The trail had light snow in it. We ascended blackhead from Lockwood Gap without any problems. We used microspikes on the way back down to Lockwood gap. The steep sections were slippery but minimal ice.
